2017 Decibel Pinot Noir, Martinborough
$31.99
Out of stock
This single vineyard wine was produced from a dry-farmed block with a unique soil structure for Martinborough with clay over top of free draining old riverbeds.
In the Appearance: Even ruby-red colour with slight purple hues, lighter edged.
On the Nose: Baked Cherry Pie and toasted nuts oscillate the nose with hints of earthy mushrooms and grainy raspberry that will develop as the wine ages.
Rosemary, sweet tobacco, bing cherry, wet leaves, red currant, and hints of violets and bay leaves all contribute to the complex and alluring nose of this wine.
On the Palate: Vibrant and crunchy in its youth with slightly edgy minerality. The wine has a medium body with a bit of white pepper, spice and dusty tannins on the finish.
Decibel Wines
Decibel was founded in 2009 by Daniel Brennan, a former rock band manager who has since become a bit of a rockstar himself in the local wine industry. He moved Hawke’s Bay in 2008, with infinite passion to learn about wine growing and this unique region. Dan honed his craft, made deep connections with local growers, and turned his initials (the musical symbol for decibel) into a beloved wine label.
Today, there are around 17 varieties available across the three wine ranges: Decibel, Giunta and Testify, featuring the iconic Martinborough Pinot Noir and Malbec, as well as a refined Chenin Blanc and zesty Sauvignon Blanc. The team is dedicated to producing wines from sustainable sites, working with many fully organic growers while inspiring others to make the switch.
