Chardonnay is a variety that allows you more freedom to make wines in a style that you like more than any other. With Mount Edward’s, you get a more delicate subtle version, moreish and complex.
On the Nose: Fruity, lightly oaky, vanilla notes.
On the Palate: Medium-bodied, this Chardonnay steers clear of the big, bold type and heads straight for the delicately subtle aisle. A wine with delicate fruit flavours, some savoury complexity, nuttiness vanilla, with a soft palate of pith like mineral texture, all underpinned by fine acidity.
Certified organic, Morrison vineyard, Pisa.

Mount Edward

Established in 1997 by Central Otago pioneer Alan Brady—also the founder of Gibbston Valley Wines—the winery began as a hands-on project focused on premium Pinot Noir and Riesling. Current owners John Buchanan and winemaker Duncan Forsyth took over in 2004, expanding into diverse varieties while upholding Brady’s ethos of minimal intervention and wild yeast fermentation.

Five BioGro-certified estate vineyards span Gibbston and Pisa sub-regions and soils range from glacial gravels to alluvial fans, yielding elegant, mid-weight style wines with fine tannins.
