Chardonnay is a variety that allows you more freedom to make wines in a style that you like more than any other. Mount Edward’s is a more delicate, lighter subtle version, moreish and complex.

A wine with delicate fruit flavours, lightness, some savoury complexity, nuttiness & a touch of vanilla. A delicate wine yet with with a soft palate of pith like mineral texture, all underpinned by fine acidity.

Matured for just under a year on lees prior to bottling.

Mount Edward

Established in 1997 by Central Otago pioneer Alan Brady—also the founder of Gibbston Valley Wines—the winery began as a hands-on project focused on premium Pinot Noir and Riesling. Current owners John Buchanan and winemaker Duncan Forsyth took over in 2004, expanding into diverse varieties while upholding Brady’s ethos of minimal intervention and wild yeast fermentation.

Five BioGro-certified estate vineyards span Gibbston and Pisa sub-regions and soils range from glacial gravels to alluvial fans, yielding elegant, mid-weight style wines with fine tannins.
